A lot goes into rigging. Getting the skin to deform like flesh can be pretty involved, and there are a lot of tools. Here I am testing a muscle in an attempt to make the goose look like he had weight, and in an attempt to give the tuba something to "wobble" with as he waddles. Ultimately, it gave too much giggle and the tuba would swing into the goose's head. The effect looked like a great simulation, but it was distracting, and created more problems with the goose's anatomy during the walk cycle, so I wound up creating the wobble and deformations manually.
